Compliance with the Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive (2009/23/EC) is required for all non-automatic weighing instruments being sold in the European Economic Area (EEA).
A non-automatic weighing instrument is defined as: “one where an operator is involved in some part of the weighing process.” For example:
It is the manufacturer’s legal responsibility to verify that their non-automatic weighing instrument complies with this directive before it is stamped with a CE mark and sold in the EEA by having a Notified Body certify conformity to the directive. This involves having a suitable product design/performance and proper documentary evidence (i.e. test reports, etc.) to show that the product complies with all relevant criteria in the directive. Tech Standard assists manufacturers in ensuring that they fulfill these requirements – upon successful completion of this, a certificate is issued to the manufacturer.
As a global solution partner of the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE), NANDO Notified Body Number 1783, Tech Standard is authorized to perform CE marking services on all types of non-automatic weighing instruments according to the Non-automatic Weighing Instruments Directive.
